At Active Grow, we believe that privacy is a fundamental part of wellness. We have designed our app with privacy at its core, ensuring that your personal health information remains entirely under your control.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Active Grow is designed to collect NO personal data whatsoever. We do not:
- Create user accounts or require registration
- Store your personal information on our servers
- Track your activity outside the app
- Collect analytics or usage data
- Share your data with third parties (we have no data to share)
- Use advertising networks or trackers
- Access your contacts, photos, or other personal files
- Monitor your location
Health Data Usage
Active Grow accesses the following health data from Apple Health (HealthKit) with your explicit permission:
- Step count data: Used to track your daily movement and grow your digital plants
- Stand hours data: Used to encourage healthy activity throughout the day
- Time in daylight data: Available on iOS 17+ devices to promote outdoor time
All health data accessed through HealthKit remains on your device. It is used solely within the app to calculate your plant growth progress and is never transmitted to our servers or any external services.
Local Data Storage
All your information is stored locally on your device. This includes:
- Your digital garden progress and plant growth stages
- Achievement badges and milestones
- App preferences and settings
- Historical wellness data processed by the app
Because all data is local: your information never leaves your device, we cannot access it, and if you delete the app all data is permanently removed. We cannot restore your progress — backups must be managed through your device's own backup system.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally, security depends on your device's built-in features: passcodes, biometric authentication, iOS encryption, and HealthKit's secure data access protocols. We recommend keeping your device updated with the latest iOS security updates.
Third-Party Services
Active Grow does not integrate with any third-party services including analytics, advertising networks, social media platforms, or cloud storage. The app operates entirely offline regarding data processing and storage.
Children's Privacy
Our app is designed for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from any users, this extends to all age groups. Parents should be aware that the app accesses health data from HealthKit, which requires explicit permission during setup.
Your Rights and Control
Because we collect no personal data, traditional data rights don't apply in the usual sense. Instead:
- You have complete control over all your data since it's stored on your device
- You can delete all app data by deleting the app, or via Settings → Data Management → Reset All Progress
- You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings
- There is no personal data on our servers to access, correct, or delete
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Union: since we do not process personal data, GDPR requirements do not apply to our app's core functionality. Health data accessed through HealthKit remains on your device and is processed based on your explicit consent when granting HealthKit permissions.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
For California residents: since Active Grow does not collect personal information, the California Consumer Privacy Act does not apply to our data practices. We have no personal information to sell, share, or disclose.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through App Store update notes, in-app notifications, and updates on our website. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
